James McAvoy and Mark Strong in an action thriller Directed by Eran Creevy and lensed by Ed Wild. I got to Steadicam and operate B-Camera handheld in what looks like an awesome film in the making.
For DoP Ole Birkeland; Alf Tremontin and I got to do plenty of Steadicam on this cult series "Utopia" but this shot I got to shoot is truly awesome! The car crash itself was shot with a RED epic in the back of a car and genuinely crashed as you see on camera. I was then tasked with reaching the MK-V AR rig into the middle of the car and matching the crash cams frame for a VFX takeover.
Edgy urban film by Menhaj Huda and DoP'd by Brian Tufano. Lots of Steadicam on the Aaton s35mm camera. Fun times.

3D Feature Film: Isle of Mann TT
NEWS AND BLOG Thomas English, UK based Freelance Steadicam Owner/Operator 07970 025 389 . I worked earlier this year on a 3D feature film using 2 RED cameras on the PS Technik flyer rig. Really proving that it is all possible in anger.
With Robert Pattison from Twighlight, A charming feature directed by Oliver Irving and lenses by Paul Swann. Steadicam was obviously done by myself. Thomas English.
Again I used the MK-V AR to spin the camera revolutions for this video for Rankin Directing which Vicky Lawton worked tirelessly to make a creative to unsettle and disturb. DoP Tat Tadcliffe DoP’d this moody promo with lots of claustrophobic close-ups, scary clowns and caged humans.
It was a long days shooting with Rankin and Vicky pushing the limits of the roll unit on the AR rig to extremes. Happily the kit survived ok and so did I.
